I

was born in Mumbai as the youngest of five children and grew up in Chennai in a typical South Indian Brahmin atmosphere. I was good in academics and excelled in sports as well.

In 1974, I graduated in Electronics and Telecommunications from the reputed Guindy Engineering College, now known as Anna University, Chennai. I also got to marry my college sweetheart!

I started my career in Siemens, Bangalore, in December 1974 and worked there for five years. But when a colleague told me that Jesus was the only way to God, I was offended.  I believed that all religions were the same and for all practical purposes, I felt no real need for a ‘Saviour’. Just to prove him wrong, I got myself a Bible and started to read it in secret!

That was the beginning of my journey with Jesus. Reading the Bible gave me peace and answered my questions about life and God. It wasn’t long before I was deeply impacted by the life of Jesus Christ and His divine wisdom, power and compassion. I was amazed at the way Jesus related to people, particularly the way He saved a woman caught in adultery from being killed by a mob.

I was also stunned by all that Jesus said about Himself. When I read of Jesus’ claim that He was the only way to God, I found it difficult to digest and stopped reading the Bible. But by then I also couldn’t accept that Jesus was the kind of person who would lie about Himself. I had felt a strange sense of peace when I was reading the Bible and couldn’t resist the urge to resume my quest for the truth.

After a year of reading the Bible I was more than convinced if its truth and decided to give my life to Jesus. On May 25th 1980, I went to the Assemblies of God Church in Munich for the first time, primarily to pray for my brother who was getting married in India. It was there that I found myself going forward and offering myself to the Lord – as His servant.

I was so compelled by the love of Christ that I began to share the ‘good news’ with anyone who would listen. Initially, my wife Ragini was apprehensive about believing in Jesus. But a year later, she too was convinced and decided to follow Jesus.

I asked the Lord to transform my life to be a blessing to others. During my seventeen year tenure at Siemens, I led the weekly Bible study at my home and was actively teaching from the Bible wherever I was called.

In the early 90’s, I accepted a job offered by my elder brother. This took me to Siberia and Russia, where religion was forbidden and Bibles were banned. I shared my faith there and it brought hope to those people who eagerly sought the Lord.

Later I left the corporate world to work as an evangelist and Bible teacher. As a faculty member of Haggai Institute International, the Lord gave me the opportunity to lead thousands across the world to experience a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus. I have travelled to 46 countries and been on radio and television in many other countries. My messages are currently being broadcast on FEBA radio.

All that Jesus promised has come true. Down the centuries, the preaching and teaching of God’s Word has often been accompanied by signs, wonders, and miracles.

Thousands of lives have been transformed  by Him. He is the sinless one who gave His life that we might be free of the consequences of sin. He rose again from death to life and is found by all who seek Him. He speaks to us through the Bible. Knowing Him is precious and priceless.

All praise and thanks to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
