Ā reetings, dear friends; my name is Krish Dhanam. I was raised in the small coastal town of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. As a child, I was fortunate to grow up in a middle-class family. Religion and tradition were easy to accept and accommodate.
Most of my youth was spent in practices that came and went with the season. And God to me was someone you prayed to based on need.
Being an average student, I never really felt the pressure to perform. But I did feel the absence of recognition because it was never shown to me. All praise was reserved for academic excellence.
My college years were fruitful as I flourished in the arts. But I was still considered less than worthy, because of my failure in the sciences.
Then in business school, I met a girl whose family followed a different God. His name was Jesus. I had heard about Christianity, but had never seen it practiced.
Though I was different, they welcomed me because they were commanded to love me. This act was simultaneously strange and comforting. I was intrigued to hear that the God who created us all would seek, love, and welcome me, though I didnāt know Him.
For the first time in my life, I felt wanted without qualification and accepted without reservation.
I knew I wanted to follow Jesus as my Lord and Saviour because He loved me before I loved Him. For the first time, I did not feel judgment but forgiveness.
Would you join me in being loved by Him who loves you just as you are?
